Simplified Islamic Laws for Young Adults

Praying five times a day can be a struggle for adult Muslims, but an even greater one for young people. At a time when texting and other technology offer fast-paced distraction, encouraging our youth to establish Salah can seem impossible.

But this pillar of Islam keeps us all grounded in our faith. It is that necessary daily reminder of Who we are accountable to, as well as Who is our greatest Benefactor. It keeps us connected to Allah in all circumstances, and it is a gift and obligation we must pass on to young Muslims.

Youth will be taken through the absolute essentials of Purification and Prayer by an expert teacher so that you can be sure of the validity of your Salah in future.

In summary the course will cover the following:

  • Introduction to fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence) covering aspects of usul al-fiqh (principles of jurisprudence)
  • Comprehensive study of the rules and methods of Taharah (purity)
  • Comprehensive study of the of the fiqh of Salah

The detailed course plan is as follows:

1. Brief Introduction to Fiqh – Whats is Fiqh

2. Taharah – Purification

Wudhu, Ghusl, Anjaas, Toilet, Tayammum, Menstruation, postnatal bleeding and istihadhah…

3. Prayer

  • Times of Salah, Makrooh times of prayer
  • Adhaan and Iqamah
  • Pre-Conditions of Salah (Shuroot) , Faraidh of Salah (Arkan)
  • Sunan of Salah
  • Acts that break the Salah (Mufsidaat)
  • Acts that do not nullify salah
  • Acts that are undesirable in Salah (Makroohaat)
  • Inner dimensions of Salah
  • Sajdah Sahw (correcting one’s prayer)

Course includes

  • Access to all 9 sessions
  • Student pack containing: book, pen and folder
  • Certificate on successful completion
