Join us for a comprehensive workshop designed to provide participants with an understanding of Islamic finance principles and their practical application in investment strategies.
Week 1: Shariah Framework
In the first week, participants will delve into the fundamental principles of Shariah, exploring its ethical and legal framework. The workshop will cover the historical development of Shariah and its relevance to contemporary financial practices. Participants will gain insights into the key concepts and principles that guide Shariah-compliant investments.
Defining Shariah Compliant Investments
Building on the foundation laid in Week 1, the second week will focus on the specific criteria that define Shariah-compliant investments. Participants will learn about permissible (halal) and prohibited (haram) activities and financial instruments, gaining practical knowledge to identify and evaluate investment opportunities in accordance with Shariah principles.
Week 2: Ribaa (Usury)
Ribaa, or usury, is a critical concept in Islamic finance. During Week 3, participants will explore the Islamic perspective on interest and usury, and how it influences investment decisions. The workshop will delve into alternative financial structures that adhere to Shariah principles, offering participants a comprehensive understanding of interest-free investment options.
Week 3: Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) Ratios
We will focus on the standards set by the AAOIFI, a key regulatory body in Islamic finance. Participants will learn about the AAOIFI ratios and how they are applied in assessing the financial health and compliance of Islamic financial institutions. This practical knowledge will empower participants to make informed investment decisions aligned with AAOIFI standards.
Week 4: Contemporary Issues and Scams
The final week of the workshop will address contemporary challenges and potential scams in the realm of Shariah-compliant investments. Participants will examine real-world case studies, learning to navigate and mitigate risks associated with emerging issues. The workshop will equip participants with the skills to critically analyze investment opportunities and safeguard against fraudulent practices.
By the end of the 4-week workshop, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of Shariah-compliant investments, from the underlying principles to practical application and risk management in the dynamic landscape of Islamic finance. In sha Allah
