Christianity and Islam
Shared Foundations and Theological Differences
Many Muslims interact daily with Christian family members, colleagues, neighbours and friends — yet may feel unsure how to explain the Islamic position on some of Christianity’s central beliefs. This 7-week online course builds a clear, respectful and evidence-based foundation for meaningful dawah conversations.
Course Focus
Rather than focusing only on differences, the course begins with beliefs, terminology and personalities familiar to both faiths before examining major theological questions surrounding God, Jesus, the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, scripture and salvation — from both Islamic and biblical perspectives.
Common Terms & Shared Foundations
Understand familiar terminology and the important areas where Muslims and Christians share common ground.
Where Islam and Christianity Differ
Identify the key theological differences between the two faiths and why those differences matter.
Has the Bible Been Preserved?
Examine transmission, textual history and the question of alteration within biblical scripture.
The Trinity
Understand the doctrine and examine it logically, theologically and from an Islamic perspective.
The Holy Spirit
Explore what Christians mean by the Holy Spirit and how this differs from the Islamic understanding.
Was Jesus Divine?
Examine commonly cited biblical arguments for the divinity of Jesus and alternative readings of those passages.
Salvation in Islam & the Bible
Explore repentance, faith, obedience, forgiveness and accountability through Islamic teachings and biblical references.
The Aim
“This course is not about winning arguments.”
It is about learning how to understand before responding, how to explain Tawheed clearly, and how to discuss the status of Prophet Isa (Jesus) عليه السلام with knowledge, respect and good character.
Ideal for Muslims involved in dawah, those regularly engaging with Christians, and anyone wanting to strengthen their understanding of the absolute Oneness of Allah.
