COMING OF AGE WORKSHOP

Girls Only • Ages 9–12 Years

Coming of Age Workshop

A gentle, faith-centred and interactive workshop designed to guide young Muslim girls through the beautiful journey of puberty, personal growth, modesty, emotional awareness and religious responsibility.

Coming of Age Workshop

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem

Navigating the journey of coming of age is a deeply transformative experience, especially for young Muslims stepping into the early stages of adulthood.

It is a time of change, growth and discovery — physically, emotionally and spiritually. This workshop has been carefully designed to support young girls with knowledge, confidence and a deeper connection to Allah.

Through gentle discussion, practical guidance and faith-based reflection, participants will learn how to understand the changes they are experiencing, care for themselves with dignity, and embrace this stage of life with confidence and Islamic awareness.

Workshop Themes

What Will Be Covered

A balanced programme covering faith, body changes, modesty, religious responsibility and emotional wellbeing.

01

Getting Closer to Allah

As young girls approach adulthood, drawing closer to Allah becomes a source of strength, comfort and direction. This session explores how personal growth can become a means of deepening faith, prayer, gratitude and love for Allah.

02

Changes in My Body & Taking Care of It

Puberty brings many natural changes. Participants will learn to understand these changes with confidence, respect and gratitude, recognising the body as an amanah from Allah that must be cared for responsibly.

03

Covering My Body & Why It Matters

This discussion introduces modesty as a beautiful part of Islamic identity, dignity and self-respect. Girls will explore the wisdom behind covering and how modesty connects to faith, confidence and honour.

04

Being Mukallaf & Menstruation

A clear and compassionate introduction to religious accountability, purification, prayer, fasting and the important rulings related to menstruation, helping participants feel informed and prepared.

05

Understanding My Emotions

Puberty can bring intense and unfamiliar emotions. This session helps girls understand emotional changes, manage feelings in a healthy way, and turn to Allah during moments of confusion, worry or uncertainty.

06

Confidence, Faith & Belonging

The workshop closes by reminding participants that they are not alone. Their faith, family and community are sources of support as they grow into confident young Muslim women, in sha Allah.

A Workshop of the Heart, Body & Soul

This is more than an educational session. It is a warm and supportive space where young girls can ask questions, gain clarity and understand the changes of growing up through the lens of Islam.

The aim is to help every participant leave feeling more confident, more informed and more connected to Allah as she embraces this important stage of life.
